Rose Hermalin is a visual artist & professional smart-ass. She received her BA in Studio Arts from Oberlin College, and proceeded to try her hand at a PhD in Sociology before returning to screen printing and mixed-media collage. Both her personal work and her commercial work reflect an interest in disrupting narrative. Her work with found photographs is focused on asking the viewer to challenge what they know about the connections between people and their histories; the work she does at Bread & Water Printshop confronts the ways that we conflate visibility with authenticity. Rose lives in Pittsburgh, PA.
